To the homeowners at Highwoods Planation,

The HOA Board of Directors has recently had a discussion regarding the impact of State and Federal social distancing guidelines on the common areas of our neighborhood.  Our biggest concern was with the playground equipment that was recently installed.

As you are all aware, this area is a common space available for use by homeowners and our families.  However, we believe it incumbent upon all homeowners to exercise an abundance of caution.  For that reason, we feel it necessary to close off use of the playground equipment for the foreseeable future.  The timing of this closure will be dictated by the social distancing guidelines issued by Governor McMaster, which also includes the closure of public playground equipment.  As of the writing of this letter, that means the playground equipment will be closed until the end of April.

Please help your children to understand the implications of exposure and spread of this disease.  We do not take this decision lightly and we completely understand the need for children to get outside and burn off energy.  However, we also must take prudent steps to do our part in reducing the potential spread of this disease.
